About South African Family Foundation

The South African Family Foundation (SAFF) is a non-profit and non-membership based organisation that actively assists children and families
by facilitating and educating both children and families on essential family structure requirements that all young children need to
grow up as healthy, well-functioning adults. SAFF will be putting family-based facilities in various communities to facilitate and conduct
peace-making and development interventions for families within multiple communities in South Africa.

FOCAL AREAS AND PILLARS

The following are South African Family Foundation (SAFF) six focal areas and pillars

Advocacy for the family institution

SAFF educates and offers a safe and nurturing environment to evaluate the family dynamics, offer guidance, provides a safe place for families to healthy or confidential discussions to protect, enrich and grow and put the needs of the child first within each family structure.

Reconciliation and counselling of family members

Many families have deep-seated wounds that have created distance in the family dynamics or, in some cases, driven the family members apart. SAFF aims to provide family counselling to work towards reconciliation. SAFF provides a safe space for each family to express their hurt and facilitates the road to bring families back together.

Empowerment of families with family management skills

SAFF creates a balance of educational activities and ideas to benefit all family members in the long term. Through professional family management skills, SAFF can assist parents in how to access information and community support that are relevant to the needs of the family and thereby empowering each family member to contribute and fulfil those needs of others.

Food security and livelihood for families

SAFF programs try to address the root causes of food insecurity and bring about sustainable poverty reduction and nutrition outcomes. However, chronically vulnerable communities and families often require interim support to maintain or improve their food security and nutrition status while working towards longer-term solutions.

Spirituality

SAFF, using spirituality, creates a sense of connection to something than our immediate families to provide further meaning to life to the families with whom they engage.

Mentoring NPOs who share a similar vision

SAFF value the ongoing relationship, interactions, advice and learnings between other NPOs who share the same vision for other family communities around South Africa.
